Eric Simonoff, a star book agent who represents the Pulitzer Prize-winning novelists Jhumpa Lahiri and Edward P. Jones as well as the memoirist-turned-novelist James Frey, is leaving the literary agency Janklow & Nesbit and joining William Morris, the global talent agency.Mr. Simonoff, 41, had been at Janklow & Nesbit for 18 years and was promoted to the role of director two years ago. He will take all his clients with him when he joins William Morris on Friday. Jennifer Rudolph Walsh and Suzanne Gluck, co-heads of William Morris’s literary operations in New York, London and Los Angeles, said they had wanted to work with Mr. Simonoff for two decades. “For years he’s been our dream date,” Ms. Gluck said. Mr. Simonoff said he had decided to make the move because of the “attractiveness of change.”
